Topic Introduction (100 Words)
My ideas for this project is to take a large selection
of the words and sentences in the book 14,000 Things To Be Happy About by Barbara
Anne Kipfer and create a visual depiction of them. Most of this project will
include a variety of still life imagery. I decided to change my idea to this
one as I felt that it is a lot more accessible for the time scale. I came
across this idea when I was reading through the book and it really inspired me
to create what I saw when I thought about the words and put it into an
interesting photo project.
Aims (3 Specific)
- Create an interesting photo series based around my inspiration and ideas.
- Get more confident and experimental when shooting still life.
- Present my work in a way that is relevant to my outcome.
Research Procedure (100 Words) Including Ideas and Influences
My research for this project will consist of initially
looking through the book and writing a list of what I can photograph and what
will look interesting. I will also be looking at similar bodies of work and see
how they have gone about photographing their projects. I will also come up with
several mood-boards that visually represent my thoughts and inspiration for
this project. I will also be looking at the photographic dictionary and see how
they interoperate words into images. I will also be looking into different ways
to present my work which links to my body of work.

Topic Introduction (100 Words)
My idea for this project is to do a documentary
photo series based on the Annie Leibovitz – Women and Brandon Stanton – Humans
of New York books. Both of these have really inspired me and I have wanted to
do a project like these for a while. My initial ideas were to photograph as
many women as I can from different jobs and lifestyles that are all from
different social class rankings and get quotes and stories from them and put them all
together in a photo series. These photographs typically will be photographed
at the women’s place of employment or in their typical lifestyle comfort.

- Get more experience and confidence in my work and photographing people I don’t know.
- Present my work in a way that is relevant to my outcome.

also look more into work by Annie Leibovitz and Brandon Stanton and look at how

similar ideas and themes and look at how they present their work. I will also
be looking into different ways of presenting my work which is relevant to my outcome
and how I can make if different and stand out.

Combining both of the ideas from these photographers projects I decided that for this project I could photographer all different types of women, including women at work and women in different lifestyles, and get quotes for them and turn it into a photography project.

Using knowledge from the Fashion and Brand Promotion course that I am combinded with I was thinking of doing an advertising campaign for a beauty brand and creating visually pleasing and eye catching images that would be used in the way of a campaign.

Looking at images that I have collected for this project I was thinking of doing a shocking advertising campaign which would be for a charity or organisation. The images would be very different to my usual style of photography and would require a lot of post editing to make them look like a real advert.

14,000 Things To Be Happy About - Barbara Anne Kipfer
This is a book that is an easy read and is very good and unique in the style that it is written. It is basicallly a list of 14,000 things to be happy about, wether it is quotes, single words, sentences and objects it is a very good read and has really inspired me to create a photo depiction of many of the things listed in the book. I will be reading through the book and making an extensive list of things to photograph.
